RIA June Webinar:

Microscopic Particle Control: The Key to Effective Cleaning and Restoration
Wednesday June 28, 2017

As science points to more connections between airborne dust levels and building occupant health, restoration and cleaning contractors are being asked to address these concerns. At a minimum such professionals need to understand the basic approaches to the control of microscopic particles in the air. Fortunately employing well-recognized techniques can help the contractor avoid creating unexpected problems during standard restoration activities related to fire, water, mold, infection control, etc.

In this webinar hosted by Michael Pinto, we focus on the importance of preventing contamination from microscopic particles and cleaning structures that have been impacted by them. Michael will explain the fundamental approaches to this type of restoration work and specialized cleaning. He will provide an overview of the basics that many contractors already have knowledge of such as isolation and HEPA filtered negative pressure. However, he will go beyond that to offer an explanation of three different, but often confused, techniques for particle control: air scrubbing, air washing, and air fogging.

About the Presenter:

Michael A. Pinto is chief executive officer of Wonder Makers Environmental, Inc., a manufacturing and environmental consulting firm that specializes in identification and control of asbestos, lead, IAQ, mold, industrial hygiene, and chemical problems. Mr. Pinto is the author of over 200 published articles and several books including, Fungal Contamination: A Comprehensive Guide for Remediation and Forensic Restoration: Procedures to Protect Operators and Occupants. He completed doctoral course work in environmental engineering and holds numerous certifications in the environmental and safety areas, including Certified Safety Professional, Certified Mold Professional, and Certified Forensic Operator. In addition to being a frequent speaker at industry events, Michael has been honored with such prestigious awards as the Golden Quill, Martin L. King Award, the Phoenix Award for Innovative Restoration from the Restoration Industry Association, and the President’s Award from the Environmental Information Association.
